"Creative People Love To Solve Problems"

Found the answer for the question that I have been asking myself for years after listening to a conference presentation from Derek Lockwood, the Worldwide Director of Design for Saatchi & Saatchi.


He mentioned that creative people love to solve problems.


This is when I realised that why people love to look for the design team to help them solve problems which are totally not related to design. And the weird thing is, we, the design team always have the answers. 
The answers came from our experience and the rest are simply just came from google or testing or F1 (help menu).


If what Derek said is true, then yes, we are creative people and the people who look for us for answers should be...


I personally really do not think that you need a designer's help to :

• use Microsoft Word
• use Microsoft Power Point
• draft competition rules & regulations
• teach how to use a new system that I am totally new to it as well
• ...some other stuff that only needs 10% patience and reduce 10% of laziness

It's not that we are not willing to help, we are more that happy to assist if they are helping to solve the problem together and not just throw the problem to us.

Kuih "Bulu"

不要问我为什么叫Kuih "Bulu"，我也不清楚。

我也问过妈妈，难道这个 kuih 有长毛吗？妈妈说她也不懂，可能是 Nyonya 的叫法吧。

这个是我的外婆 (是的，她是 Nyonya) 教我妈妈做的。

Kuih "Bulu"，类似鸡蛋糕。很可爱，很好吃。

每逢过年，妈妈一定会做。

妈妈很引以她的Kuih "Bulu"为傲。

因为她放的材料很足够，鸡蛋就是主角。而且我们是有炭来烘的哦！

每次的搅拌，要用十粒大鸡蛋，两碗白糖和两碗面粉。

等待搅拌的当儿，就起炉烧炭。

搅拌好了，就把我家祖传的Kuih "Bulu" 模放在炉上。

首先，在每个模里抹上食油。

再来，放进搅拌好的鸡蛋面粉糊。

把模盖盖上。模盖上也有烧红了的炭哦。
等待当儿，扇一扇，让炭烧得更红。

把模盖开起来。

啊！好了。

香香的Kuih "Bulu" 可以上桌和存进饼桶了。

每次我们都会一边烘一边吃。热热地，刚烘好，还有一点脆脆的。

连我的狗狗和猫咪都爱吃哦！我们一边烘而他们会趁我们不注意时偷吃。

每次我们姐妹和妈妈都会一起做。

大家谈谈天，喝喝咖啡冰，一边烘一边吃。

过年的气氛，在这个时候对我们来说是最浓烈的。

虽然今年只有我和妈妈，但还是很快乐的。期待着明年可以和妹妹们一起做。

第九届《欢喜苑》

《欢喜苑》来到第九届咯！

从第一届就开始到这里报到的我，实在难以相信九年就这么过了。犹然记得第一届时，我才刚进大学呢。叫我们“老营虫”，实在是实至名归。

每年都非常幸运地，都能抽身到这里准时报到。
每当一晓得营的日期，立刻就会在我的organiser 把日期给 block 起来。就算是刚转工，也预先跟主管请假。每一年的年尾，必定报到。

对我们“老营虫”来说，回到《欢喜苑》，就像回家。
《欢喜苑》充满着欢乐和笑声。和小菩萨们工委们在一起欢喜的 4 天 3 夜，就像度假。

《欢喜苑》洗涤了我们在外工作被污染了的心灵和思想。

《欢喜苑》是小孩的快乐天堂，也是我们工委们的欢乐之地。

今年将会是第十届。
期待着。。。

執子之手

农历新年就是跟好久不见的朋友聚会的时候。

今年的聚会，大家都纷纷送上了“红炸弹”。原来龙年除了是生孩子的好年，也是结婚的好日子。

对我来说，结婚还是一件我无法想象得到事情。

我还是无法了解会是什么原因能让一个人愿意许下这么重要的承诺而和另外一个人在一起一生一世。所以，当我听到朋友们要结婚了，都会好奇地问他们。

无论如何，看到朋友们能结婚，我还是很为他们高兴。

因为，他们是幸运的一群。

能在茫茫人海中找到一个能共度余生的人，是一件何其有福气的事。

朋友们，祝你们白头到老，幸福美满。
