Came across this advert calling for auditions from KLPAC.
Still thinking want to have it a try or not.
There is not a problem for me If it is a Chinese language spoken audition. But, in English, I just do not have the confidence to do so.
Somemore, they need caricature and cappella! I can't even sing well in karaoke session!
Should I just go and not care for anything?
Like what Nike advert says : "Just Do It" ??!!
WHAT DO I PREPARE FOR THE ENSEMBLE CAST AUDITIONS?
a contemporary monologue in English of 2 minutes;
a portrayal of a specific Malaysian caricature* of 1 minute;
a portrayal of a specific non-Malaysian caricature* of 1 minute;
a musical number, a cappella, of 1 minute;
an optional presentation of your other abilities (acrobatics, dance, mime, magic tricks, accents, juggling, clowning, musical instruments, etc.) of 1 minute
*a comic exaggeration of a stereotype or a known character/personality; i.e. a Malaysian cab driver, an 'aunty', the boss of a kopitiam, a local politician, Siti Nurhaliza, Amitabh Bachchan, Oprah Winfrey, Eminem, Simon Cowell, Homer Simpson, Bruce Lee, Barack Obama, etc.
